Book Overview

“Landon is just so hot, the pages are burning!”

On the night she discovers her ex’s engagement, Rachel meets Landon, the most attractive man she’s ever seen, who, for some reason, mistakes her for a hooker. The thing is, he’s so sexy, and it’s just one night…what harm can there be in giving in to the desire to lose herself in his touch? She’s never going to see him again, even though he has given her the most intensely pleasurable night of her life.

Landon prefers his women beautiful and sophisticated, with no desire for commitment, so when his brother ignores his protests and sends him a hooker on his birthday, he’s surprised by how willing he is to continue paying for her services. It should be easy, except she’s no hooker, and she has no intention of letting him into her life.

As the billionaire owner of Swanson Court Hotels, Landon is used to getting what he wants, and Rachel is not going to be an exception.

This free romance novel is for people who love steamy books with strong alpha men.  Fans of Billionaire romance books like The Crossfire series by Sylvia Day and Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James will love this one.

Maybe I missed it in the description but I was disappointed by the ending. Forget any more of her books.

I wrote one review but after I read all three books I had to stop and rewrite it. I read a series Sylvia Day wrote Crossfire Series. This series is so close to it, at times I thought I was reading that series. They both have two main characters that have a dysfunctional relationship from the start where all they do is have sex. The main male characters had rough childhoods and have nightmares. I think it’s great but why am I buying three books that can be written in one. Sorry I thought the story line was good and sad when you are so insecure that you can’t let go of someone that doesn’t love you and grab on to someone that can’t commit. The third book of the series is the best. There is more story line with more intimacy, love, life, struggles.

Rachel and Landon make this book a very erotic romance, without giving anything away. I couldn't put it down.
  • Lacked substance

The book was well written, and had it's fair share of romance throughout, but nothing really progressed. It was just angsty scene after angsty scene. I know it belongs to a series, but there was no plot development here, and it ends seemingly in the middle of something. Not enough to be a cliff hanger but enough for you to feel as if the scene hasn't ended. There's little to no suspense in the story, and you just read hoping that the characters will develop more or that the conflict will appear. Overall it was a very disappointing start that got extremely repetitive about halfway through.
  • Fantastic story!!!

That elevator ride changed their lives. They both have issues. He still deals with the death of his mother in the form of nightly nightmares. She's still dealing with the way Jack treated her, like she wasn't good enough. I know Landon was throwing hints out there about wanting more but he should know to be more straightforward and making comments like "...as soon as a woman starts to demand more than I can give, I walk away" certainly didn't help. Also, what was Rachel thinking? Agreeing to meet Jack for drinks while driving in the car with the man she's currently dating exclusively! Friends or not, Jack is an ex in Landon's mind. I think he had every right to freak out a little bit. And was goodbye for the night or for good? I can't wait for the next book to come out to get an answer to my question! This is my first book by Serena Grey and she's definitely got my attention. ** originally reviewed for welovekink(dot)com
