This is a very good book for those interested in early american mills. The millstone was the critical technology for a mill. This book provides extensive information on the quarrying, use, and economics of supplying millstones to the gristmills which followed the settlers of the American frontier. While concentrating on the quarrys of Kentucky, it provides general information of value to anyone who is interested in milling.
A very well written book. Lots of documentation and pictures.
