About the Author
Born in England in 1955, Allan G. Hunter (www.allanhunter.net) gained all his degrees at Oxford University, emerging with a doctorate in English Literature in 1983. He is a therapist and, for the past 20 years, a professor of literature at Curry College in Massachusetts. He is the author of Joseph Conrad and the Ethics of Darwinism, Life Passages, and The Sanity Manual. His work as a therapist led to his uncovering of the presence of the six archetypes in literature. He lives in Watertown, Massachusetts.

As you read this book, over and over you say to yourself, "Yes, I know this! I know this in my core."
Mr. Hunter illuminates paths of our lives through these stories, and makes understandable a topic which is very deep indeed.
A must read!

Allan Hunter's book is delightful to read and thought provoking. His insights invite meditation. I easily related to past travels through the innocent, orphan, pilgrim, and warrior stages of spiritual development that he depicts. And now, thanks to Mr. Hunter, I have a map that guides me beyond. At the same time, I was moved to consider how literature and other arts reflect human yearning and the trials and tribulations along the path of spiritual growth. Mr. Hunter's book is so accessible and compelling that I anticipate it will raise consciousness and elicit broader conversation about our spiritual imperatives. A must-read!
