About the Author
Martti Nissinen, Ph.D. (1991), University of Helsinki, is Senior Researcher, Academy of Finland. He teaches Hebrew Bible at the University of Helsinki, publishes and lectures extensively on prophecy in the ancient Near East, and is one of the translators of the New Finnish Bible (1992).

This is a handy little guide to have for ANE prophecy. If you are a student of the biblical prophets, this is a handy little guide if you want to compare biblical prophets to those in the ANE. Most of the book is comprised of the prophets from Mari and Ashurbanipal's library (including prophecies for Esarhaddon). There are also a few West Semitic prophecies.
