This book is your shortcut to installing Dynamics AX 2009. The steps described in every chapter are clear and right to the point. I was installing AX on 3 servers and had lots of headache making it work, especially that I installed Sharepoint after installing Workflow. Had I had this book, I would have saved tons of time. It's good to go over the book before every new installation you want to perform. It's for both beginners and pros. Five stars ++ is the least I would give to this book.

The book is great as it gives countless screen shoots that will help you follow step by step what you need to do in order to get AX 2009 and its components up and running in no time. You'll learn everything from planning the hardware for AX 2009 to backup and maintenance. For example, one of my favorite chapters is the Enterprise Portal setup, which can be a really complicated task if you don't have a wide idea on what's going on, and Marco explains it in a way that is really easy to follow and understand. Also, know I truly understand the security in AX and how to quickly setup groups, create relationships between users and employees, and import users directly from AD.
In addition, there are sections in the book called "Warnings or Important Notes" and "Tips" between paragraphs that really help you gain knowledge on how to accomplish task in different ways, which I found really helpful.
I just wish that the Data Migration chapter would have more relevant information. I was hoping for something that could help me with the migration of data I'm doing from Axapta 3.0 to AX 2009. Instead, Marco only shows you how to do it from AX 2009, which is not very helpful.
After reading this book your knowledge of AX 2009 administration will be 1000 times better. I really recommend this book for anyone that needs to get superior knowledge on AX administration.
