As a biologist with a doctorate, it is rare to find a book that is so well written, so accessible and cuts straight across the conventional wisdom of our day. There is some real meat here.

I will confess that I started reading because of a recommendation of Boklage as "The Big Kahuna" in the area. And also, that I had, independently, come to suspect strongly that chimerism was more frequent than we believe. This has big implications. (I think they are bigger than Boklage was willing to say, but that's alright.) So reading this was quite an eye opener.

I also will say that I was reluctant, because most books of this kind are, well, rather heavy going. This one is not, and yet it is not dumbed down either. Just that wins the author a couple of gold stars in my book. I am a fan of the Japanese style, which puts emphasis on simplicity of presentation, clarity and brevity. Mostly, this book is outstanding all three.

No, I have never met nor corresponded with the author, Dr. Boklage. But I have tried to cite him a couple of times. (I say tried, because the manuscript has not been accepted yet. It's a bit outre.)
