good book
)
this is a good electrical book, it is more about teory than practical instalations, it got some mistakes. also easy explanations.

Full of rambling descriptions and errors
)
This book was terrible and I was forced to return it.
First of all there are so many typos or errors in it that could be potentially misleading. Formulas are repeated with P=IV then P=I/V right next to each other. On the next page the symbols referring to grounded schematics vs. non grounded schematics show the traditional ground symbol on the non grounded symbol. The density of these mathematical/editing errors was staggering. These were the errors I could easily follow, given their frequency how many typos so far how many on the more complicated chapters were present and pointing the reader in the wrong direction. Definitely not what you need when studying for the exam.
Secondly the concepts are TERRIBLY discussed. Every other paragraph refers to properties of a concept like inductance without ever clearly defining it then expressing how it relates to common electrical installations. The examples given are all of historical methods of determining values like voltage EMF. what is the point of discussing the direction a needle will deflect from a magnetic field without ever mentioning a modern application or measuring device? The value of wasting 4 pages on a Gold leaf electroscope or Leyden Jar Capacitor and then neglecting the details of modern devices is quite questionable. There are constant references to diagrams that even after reading the text 5 times I cannot figure out how they correlate.
I have a degree in Electrical Engineering and was interested in a book to help bridge the gap between that theoretical knowledge and AC applications. This book proved to be quite a frustrating disappointment and waste of time. The contents are rambling and very hard to follow commentary on electrical theory that in no way resembles the bulleted list on the back of the book.
I got to page 250/400 which was nearly all on archaic DC theory and requested a return label.....I learned enough to give the book 2 stars, but at least 80% of what I read was a waste of paper. Your better off reading every page of the NEC, which I did prior to ordering this book.
